Hollin Meadows Elementary School PTA, in Alexandria, held their annual Veterans Day program on Thursday November 11th. Many guests were part of this wonderful program, including:
The Old Army Guard presenting the colors
Retired Navy Captain Dan Brunk and Lt. Colonel Allison McFeatter, who spoke about their time and experiences in the military
The HMES chorus
Marine Master Gunnery Sergeant Andrew Schuller who played “Taps” on the trumpet, echoed by Senior Chief Charles Hovey on the tuba
The HMES Student Council officers who introduced our guests
Many active duty and retired military family members of our HMES students and community joined the students and staff for this outdoor program. All students were invited to place their flags around the perimeter of the school entrance to show their appreciation for our veterans.
