You will receive immediate access to materials from Scripps via download as soon as you register your school. Once you hold your bee, your school's spelling bee champion will advance to the Fairfax County Spelling Bee, held in on March 17, 2024.

KEY DATES FOR 2023-2024
August 22, 2023: School enrollment OPENS
September 29, 2023: Last day for a school to enroll and receive a BONUS Brittanica Kids Online prize (TWO prizes instead of one)
October 31, 2023: Last day for $180 per-school enrollment price
November 1, 2023: Per-school enrollment price rises to $199
December 14, 2023: Live Q&A with Eliza: For Bee Coordinators, 7 PM via Zoom
January 11, 2024: Live Q&A with Eliza: For Bee Judges, Pronouncers, and the Coordinators Who Train Them, 7 PM via Zoom
January 31, 2024: School enrollment CLOSES
March 8, 2024: Deadline for enrolled schools to complete their spelling bees
March 12, 2024: Deadline for enrolled schools to register their bee champions to participate in the 2024 Fairfax County Spelling Bee
March 14, 2024: Live Q&A with Eliza: All about the Fairfax County Spelling Bee, 7 PM via Zoom (limited to bee champions of enrolled schools & their families)
March 17, 2024: 2024 Fairfax County Spelling Bee, Lake Braddock Secondary School, Burke, VA
May 26-31, 2024: The 2024 Scripps National Spelling Bee (Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, National Harbor, MD). The bee champions of schools enrolled in the 2024 Scripps National Spelling Bee in the area of Fairfax County and Alexandria City are the ONLY spelling bee champions eligible to participate in this Scripps Regional Spelling Bee.
