Fairfax County Special Education Resources Required by the Commonwealth of Virginia, this committee includes parents of students with disabilities, representatives of community organizations and representatives from community programs that provide services for students with disabilities. Integrative Technology Services provides consultations and (when appropriate) equipment for individual students on request. They will evaluate a student’s needs, provide any needed equipment and software and train the student and teachers in their use. An example would be providing software to help a student with writing using tools such as work prediction and organizational help. Specially trained parent mentors providing assistance to parents who are navigating the special education process. With three locations in Fairfax County and a very comprehensive web site, the PRC provides information, training workshops and support for parents of students in special education.
