Understanding FCPS Regulation and Notice 8424, PTA or Booster Club Managed Fee-Based Classes, Clinics, Leagues, and Summer Youth Camps

Wednesday, August 29 at 7:00 PM in the cafeteria of Providence Elementary School, 3616 Jermantown Road, Fairfax.

This is an information meeting to assist the PTA or booster volunteers responsible for managing after-school classes, camps, leagues or clinics. Regulation and Notice 8424 are being revised this summer with changes that will take place starting with the 2012-13 school year. Summer revisions will also be shared. Discussion will include the following topics:

• Procedures for use including application and deadlines.
• Proper promotional flyer information.
• Use of independent contractors (outside businesses) vs. FCPS employees for these type of activities.
• Process of paying FCPS employees to work these activities. Fairfax County Public Schools Community Use Section

A second meeting is planned for Thursday, September 13 at 7:00 PM at Woodburn Elementary School.
