FCCPTA is proud to host its first ever Advocacy Day event for PTA members across Fairfax County. It is scheduled for Monday, December 4 from 6:00PM – 9:00PM at the Gatehouse Administration Center located at 8115 Gatehouse Road in Falls Church. The theme is “Building Relationships to Advance Education”. PTA members will have the great opportunity to meet, engage, and build relationships with their local elected officials on the Fairfax County School Board and Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. Most of your elected officials will be in attendance. Check out the tentative agenda attached to the registration page for participant details!
The event will have panel discussions about the potential FY2019 budget and the budget process, various education policy issues, and district breakout sessions where PTA members can engage their elected officials in more a more intimate setting to discuss specific school and district issues.
This is the time for PTA members to share their stories about their students and schools before the School Board and Board of Supervisors act on important issues like the 2018-2019 school calendar and the FY2019 budget! See you there!
